Worship Without A Word

“I will extol the Lord at all times; his praise will always be on my lips.” -Psalm 34:1

How does one worship the Lord without saying anything? That’s what this verse challenges me to do. If extolling the Lord at all times is taken literally, then we would never shut up. Which, to be honest, is a problem for some believers. However, I don’t believe this verse is calling us to gab on and on and sing “It Is Well With My Soul” in the face of every person we meet.

Praise is on our tongue when we serve others with humility and love. Worship extols from us every time we choose to forgive with grace and gentleness. We lift the name of God up when we represent him well in this world, even if we don’t say a word. His praise shall be ever on our lips, especially when we’re not saying a word.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, I worship you. I praise you. I extol you. I love you. You are good. I pray that today and every day that my life toward you would match my words of you.
